Aurrus is a subscription-gated service. This means that the Claude AI layer — the part that makes reminders smart, parses natural language schedules, and powers the voice widget — is only active for users with a current subscription. The gating exists because every Claude API call has a real cost, and subscriptions make those costs predictable for both Aurrus and its users. Here is how the subscription system works and what each tier actually provides.

How Subscription Gating Works

When you send a message to Aurrus via WhatsApp, the backend checks your subscription status before routing the message to Claude. If your subscription is active, the message goes to the claude-cli-bridge, Claude generates a response, and you receive it in the same chat thread. If your subscription is inactive or expired, Aurrus sends a brief notification with a direct link to billing.aurr.us to reactivate. Non-AI commands — /otp, /reminders, /help, /clear — work regardless of subscription status, so you can always access your reminder list and manage your account even without an active plan.

The Starter Tier

The Starter tier is designed for individual professionals who need WhatsApp reminders and light AI interaction. It includes:

  • Up to 10 active reminders simultaneously
  • Claude AI responses for reminder creation and management via WhatsApp
  • Basic conversational AI (up to 50 Claude-powered WhatsApp messages per billing period)
  • Access to the Aurrus dashboard at aurr.us for reminder management
  • WhatsApp commands: /otp, /reminders, /help, /clear

The Starter tier does not include the voice widget embed feature. It is purely a WhatsApp reminder and AI assistant tier.

The Pro Tier

The Pro tier adds the voice widget and increases the usage envelope substantially:

  • Up to 50 active reminders simultaneously
  • Unlimited Claude AI responses via WhatsApp for reminder management
  • Up to 200 Claude-powered WhatsApp conversation messages per billing period
  • Full voice widget access — embed on up to 3 domains
  • Custom system prompt for the voice widget
  • Conversation logs and analytics in the dashboard
  • Piper TTS voice output enabled for the widget

The Pro tier is designed for professionals and small business owners who need both personal reminders and a site-embedded voice AI assistant.

The Business Tier

The Business tier removes most per-period limits and adds team features:

  • Unlimited active reminders per user
  • Unlimited Claude-powered WhatsApp messages
  • Voice widget on unlimited domains
  • ElevenLabs premium TTS voice (configurable per widget)
  • Volume discount pricing for five or more team members
  • Aggregate usage dashboard for billing administrators
  • Priority support via WhatsApp and email

Managing Your Subscription

Subscription management is handled entirely at billing.aurr.us. Log in with the same WhatsApp number you use for reminders (the /otp flow links both). From the billing dashboard you can upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees on any tier.

What Happens if You Hit Usage Limits

If you approach your monthly Claude message limit on the Starter or Pro tier, Aurrus sends a proactive WhatsApp notification before you hit the cap. The notification includes your current usage, the remaining allowance, and a one-tap link to upgrade. If you exceed the limit before upgrading, AI-powered responses pause until the next billing period or until you upgrade — but reminder delivery continues unaffected. Your scheduled reminders fire and reach you on WhatsApp regardless of your AI message quota status.
